An old farm that sits on a natural terrace, its old stables faithfully renovated into apartments...here’s history in the remaking...
GABELLA: the farmer and his family’s bedroom. FUOCO: the farm kitchen and meeting place, its walls blackened by smoke and time. PAGLIA: the Mangiabove barn, once roofless to facilitate the fall of straw that was thrown from above. TIMPA: home to the farm’s hens and donkeys, named after the hard stone, typical of the area. CIRASA: over time the name was given to the Mangiabove family cow, usually the oldest and most productive cow on the farm, and this was her stall. QUARTARA: an old tin container the farmers used to store water, wine, and oil, and these containers were kept here in this room. BARONESSA: the name given to Mangiabove’s queen cow, the one that produced the most milk, used by the farmers when making their “ricotta” (cheese) in this room. A large earthenware jar called GIARA, used to store the farm’s olive oil, and this is the room where these jars were kept.
